Using the latest innovations in dentistry, periodontist Dr. Michael Setter has been successfully treating gum disease and placing implants in the Pacific Northwest for since 2008. Passionate about his profession, Dr. Setter is focused on helping patients keep their teeth for the rest of their lives through individualized planning and minimally invasive therapy. He is especially known for his partnership-focused communication and gentle care.
SPECIALIZED FOCUS AND TRAINING
A periodontist is a dental specialist who has pursued additional training in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal (gum) diseases and in the placement and maintenance of dental implants. Periodontists are experts in the treatment of all forms of periodontal conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and gingival recession. Training requires an additional three years after dental school. Periodontists may become board-certified through rigorous study and testing against a panel of experts in the field. Dr. Setter is proud to be among this select group of Diplomates. By choosing a board-certified specialist, you will benefit from the latest procedures and technology for treating periodontal disease and placing dental implants with all options available and customized to your needs.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENT WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY

Our practice has state-of-the-art equipment to provide quality, comfortable and minimally invasive dental care. Dr. Setter has completed additional training and certification with the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry to offer laser-assisted periodontal surgery (LANAP) as an option for treating gum disease. No cutting or suturing involved! We also offer a surgery-free option in certain cases by using a special endoscope (small camera) that can be used to help remove the bacteria and toxins under the gum line. Our office has successfully helped patients overcome their gum disease with these breakthrough technologies. We also use a special low-radiation CT scanner to capture 3D images of the jaw area for precise planning of dental implant placement. These images allow us to plan the exact location and angle of the implant placement, and to create a surgical guide that the doctor uses on the day of surgery. This makes surgery day a fast and comfortable event, as Dr. Setter can do minimally invasive surgery with pinpoint accuracy and minimal post-operation discomfort.

From simple things like good coffee, blankets, and face towels to more complex anxiety relief, we want to learn how we can create the most relaxed experience for you. Dr. Setter and his team are certified in nitrous oxide (“laughing gas,”) oral sedation, and IV conscious sedation so that we can provide the full range of safe and comfortable options, catered specifically for you.
